NURSERY & CHILDCARE: 8:30am – 12:15pm (Room 201, CE Wing)
Each Sunday morning staff and volunteers who have been safe churched trained and back ground checked provide childcare for our babies and children through 2nd grade.
CHILDREN’S SUNDAY SCHOOL: 9:45am – 10:50 (Room 209, CE Wing)
On Sunday, May 14 we welcomed our new Children’s Program Coordinator, Erica Hardy! We are so excited she will be joining our ministry team. She brings many gifts and a whole lot of energy to the program.
Each Sunday, we offer a fun and meaningful Sunday School experience for our children using the progressive, lectionary based Feasting on the Word curriculum. We are open to children with all kinds of special needs and disabilities. ALL ARE WELCOME AT CENTRAL UCC.
We are always looking for new volunteers in our Sunday School classrooms. If you are a loving adult, interested in helping with our children’s ministry, please email Erica at [email protected]
CHILDREN’S MUSIC GROUP: following 11:00am Service (Room 102, Lower Level)
Our Children’s Music Group is designed for children in grades 1-5. Children attending the 11:00 am worship service leave with Ms. Leona, our Music Director, during the closing hymn, and meet in Room 102, dismissing at 12:30. The goal of the children’s music program is to prepare children to worship fully through music. Our children will be singing on Pentecost Sunday, June 4. Contact: Leona Greenlaw ([email protected]).
Acolytes in Worship
Through the centuries, acolytes have been faithful and conscientious people of faith of all ages. At Central UCC, beginning with third graders, this important ministry invites children and youth to lead us in 11:00 a.m. worship, bringing the light of Christ into our time together. The acolytes are trained in their work before beginning.
Keeping our Children Safe
Central Congregational UCC is committed to creating and maintaining programs, facilities, and a community in which members, staff, volunteers, and friends can worship, learn, and work together in an atmosphere free from all forms of discrimination, harassment, exploitation, and intimidation. The congregation has established policies and procedures, screening and training of staff and volunteers, and preventative education for the congregation in the following areas: sexual misconduct, physical abuse and other forms of harassment. We hold each other to the highest standard to keep our children safe.
