The South Georiga Farmworkers Health Project with Emory University School of Medicine JUNE 2015
Each summer, Central UCC sends a team of youth and adults down to the fields of Valdosta, Georiga along with the Emory Physicians program. For two weeks they offer free healthcare screenings and basic medications to the undocumented farmworkers. Along with our presence, Central UCC contributes a significant amount of hygiene products and gently used clothing. We can’t do this alone! We need your help! We are currently collecting long pants, long sleeved t-shirts, sunglasses, hats, and work boots for the men and women who work in the fields everyday. Why long sleeved if it’s so hot? To ensure protection from the harsh pesticides and hot sun day-in and day-out.
